Help Identify Studio Pottery Mark

by Diane
(Butler, PA )

I've searched all over the Pinterest site for Studio pottery marks, but I can't find any information. The problem is that I cannot make out the first initial/letter. I believe that the second letter is an "E", but I'm not 100% sure. I would appreciate any information I can find on this piece. Thanks!

Your pottery mark: NEW
by: Debi

The mark in your photos looks similar, but not quite the same as those of Bruce Montgomery, Potlatch Pottery, Waterloo, Iowa. I have a variety of his pottery which I’ve collected over 20 years and have researched him as much as possible on the internet. You should post not only photos of the mark, but also, the entire pot for best results. Please see examples of his pottery and mark at my Pinterest file of his pottery & mark:

Bruce Montgomery Pottery Stamp NEW
by: James Kerns

This is definitely Bruce's stamp. We have a tea pot of Bruces and it has the same stamp. We knew Bruce quite well when he lived and worked in Cedar Falls, Iowa in the 1970s.

Bruce Montgomery, Potlatch pottery NEW

Thanks for the comment Olga! (It's been on here for years with no help). ;)

It "kinda" looks like those marks...(the style). Have you found an example to share with me? The ones I've seen are an oval whereas mine is a rectangle. Your thoughts? Thanks MUCH!
