Leaf Dish - Pottery Mark - Oval w/ 4 G W

This mark is on a small old leaf dish. It is pressed in the clay. It looks like a salt or tin glaze - whitish. The mark is oval with what appears to be the number four at the top. Underneath the cross of the four there is a G on the left side and a W on the right. The leg of the number four seems to terminate in a double x. There is printing around this symbol but I can't make it out. There is a tiny square stamp just below it. There is no indication of the country it was manufactured in. Thanks for your help.
