Upside Down "U" Pottery Mark under Pitcher Handle

Hello, I bought a foot tall grey ceramic pitcher today with a folk art rabbit painted w/slip on both sides. The mark is under the handle. It looks like an upside down U filled in w/lines and the letter M next to it. I cannot find the mark anywhere. I am not sure if this pitcher is old or new. It is very nice.
